Running sensitive applications in untrusted environments

For a long time research has been performed into how applications can run securely even in untrusted (cloud) environments. Until recently this work was largely theoretical, the recent release of CPUs with secure enclave functionality such as Intel SGX and ARM Trustzone provide a first step in making this a reality. In this talk the challenges of running applications securely in untrusted environments are explained followed by a deep dive into Intel SGX technology showing how these challenges can be addressed.
