Docker is an open platform to build, ship, and run any Linux application, anywhere. It can be used in many ways: providing clean, isolated development environments; quickly spinning up test instances for CI purposes; ensuring coherence between development and production platform; and much more.
In this hands-on workshop we shortly introduce Docker but we will spend most of the time in getting hands-on. You will get an opportunity to dive in, and see Docker in action. You will learn the basic concepts of docker. Running containers, creating your own images, automate your build and setting up a simple web application cluster.
Preparation and target audience: This hands-on is relevant for dev and ops. If you have heard about docker but haven’t used it (or a little). This hands-on will get you booted. It will help when you have some basic knowledge about using a UNIX like shell. You only need your own laptop with a SSH client installed, you will get a virtual machine for the hands-on.
